The results favored the newer drugs. People taking NOACs lost 0.23 fewer points per year on a standard memory test compared to those taking no blood thinner. Compared to warfarin users, the NOAC group lost 0.21 fewer points per year. Both differences were statistically significant, meaning they were unlikely to be due to chance.
